15 Players Emerge From Ogun Football Talent-Hunt


u-15 Ogun football talent-huntThe grassroots football talent-hunt competition for students between the ages of 13 and 15 organised by the wife of the Governor of Ogun State, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun by the weekend produced the best 15 players from amongst the participants.

The grand finale of the programme tagged UPLIFTing Under-15 Grassroots Football, which took place at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, had in attendance the Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, his wife and chief organiser, Olufunso amongst other dignitaries.

The top 15 players were verified and endorsed by Mr. Jim Colston, a renowned scout in the English Premier League; Nigerian ex-international, Chief Segun Odegbami, and Football Ambassador, John Fashanu.

The names of the 15 best players are: Sodje Daniel, Mudasiru Idowu, William Blessing, Abimbola Abiodun, Caleb Dosunmu, Adedeji Adeniyi, Akiode Ayomide and Kuyoro Olamide. The others are Davids Udoh, Abiola Kazeem, Suleiman Adams, Oladipupo Adeola, Ajao Ahmed, Odetola Eniola and Ipaye Michael.

UPLIFTing U-15 Grassroots Football was designed to identify young people with flair and passion for the game of soccer and to help them build their skills and expose the best players to international opportunities. Having identified these talented footballers, Mrs. Amosun has promised to give them the opportunity to enhance their football talents as well as their education outside Nigeria.
