2006 Ogun State Merit Award – Teacher, Students bag Awards

The educational sector was not left out at the 2006 Ogun State Award Night held on Sunday, 19th August, 2007 at the government house, Abeokuta.

The governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel disclosed that the annual award night was meant to promote excellence and to recognise those who have been diligent, hardworking, and committed to their work and environment

In all, there were 22 award categories. Below are the list of those in the educational sector

Award Category: Teacher of the Year

  1. Mr. O N Akapo – St. Mary’s Anglican Primary School, Osiele, Odeda (Winner)
  2. Mr Adegbesan Joseph Olusanya (Second)
  3. Mr Aina Adefela Olatoye

Award Category: Student of the Year (Private Schools Category)

  1. Oritade Adedamola Eniola – Taidob College (Winner)
  2. Odukoya Babatunde Ayodeji – O and A Academy, Ikenne Remo (Second)
  3. Adefemi A Adetola – O and A Academy, Ikenne Remo (Third)

Award Category: Student of the Year (Public Schools Category)

  1. Ibidapo K Deborah – Federal Government College, Sagamu (Winner)
  2. Ogundeji Olaide Olakunle – African Church Grammar School, Abeokuta (Second)
  3. Lawal Yetunde – Abeokuta Grammar School, Abeokuta (Third)

Award Category: Student of the Year (Tertiary Institutions Category)

  1. Mr. Atiku Ganiyu Oladimeji – President, Student Union Government of TASUED (Winner)
