First Stage Result – 2010 Cowbell National Mathematics Competition


Results of the the First Stage of the 2010 Cowbell National Mathematics Competition which held nationwide on Saturday, February 13, 2010 has been released.

Of the 686 student from Ogun State schools who entered for the Junior category, 12 year old Master Aro Ayomide of The Ambassador’s College, Ota came first with a score of 67%, followed by Master Shodipo Ahmed (13 yrs) of Mayflower School, Ikenne, with 65% and Master Ajala Rasheed (12 years) of Ota Total Academy, Ota with 57%.

In the Senior category, 13 year-old, Miss Sanni Mutmainah of Ota Total Academy, Ota clinched the first position with (98%) followed by Miss Shodipo Aminat Abolaji of Nigerian Turkish International School and Miss Egbekunle Oluwafunmilola (90%) of Iganmode Grammar School  There were 640 entries from Ogun State.

The three top best students in both the senior and junior categories of this stage in each state will be presented cash awards of N20,000, N15,000 and N10,000 respectively while the mathematics teacher of the first prize winner in both categories will smile home with the sum of N15,000.

The best student in each category from each state and the federal capital (74 students in all) will participate in the second and final stage examination to be held in Lagos on Saturday, April 17, 2010.
