Wife of the Governor of Ogun State, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun has charged the secondary school students in the 20 Local Government Council of the State who had the best result in the 2012 May/June West African Senior Secondary School Certificate (WASSSCE) to be focused and dedicated in their future endeavours.

She gave the charge during the official presentation of certificates to the students tagged “Uplifting SSS3 Students” at the Progress Hall, South – West Resource Centre, Oke – Mosan, Abeokuta noting that the initiative was designed to improve the standard of education in the states.

Mrs. Amosun said it was only through dedication and hard work that the students been celebrated could achieve the results that made them stand out as the best in their schools and Local Government Councils, appealing to them to exhibit good leadership qualities.
According to her,

“Ogun state is well known to be first in education and we will like to reclaim our position as the first in everything. l implore all parents to encourage their wards to take up responsibilities that would enable them leadership roles that would spur them to greater height”.

She added that the students are being celebrated so that other students could take a cue from it by studying hard and to fulfill the promise of rewarding students with best WASCE results in the state to enjoy free sponsorship leadership training in the United Kingdom.

Certificate of recognition for brilliant performance in the 2012 WASCE were presented to the students as part of mission to rebuild Ogun State.

Other dignitaries at the occasion include, the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Bar. Segun Odubela, Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Dr. Tunji Abimbola, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Science and Technology, Alhgaji Ambali Ishola and Zonal Directors of Education among others.
