Ogun Nursing Student Emerged Best Essay Writer0
A student of the Ogun State School of Nursing, Ijebu Ode, Miss. Adenike Adewunmi has done the State proud by emerging as the best in an essay competition amongst students of Schools of Nursing across the country.
The essay competition tagged “Health of Women: A Call for Paradigm Shift in Family and Reproduction Health” organised by the Florence Nightingale Speech Contest Organisation was held at the School of Nursing, Eleyele Ibadan.
Reacting to the development when the student came to present the award to him, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Olaokun Soyinka charged student nurses to always educate and enlighten their patients, adding that they should impact positively on the lives of the people now and in the future
He urged them to be involved more in health promotion activities, aspire to live an exemplary live and be role models to others coming after them.
Dr. Soyinka assured that on its part, the State government will be unrelenting in making teaching and learning more conducive in all its institutions of learning, particularly the nursing schools, so that products of the institutions would continue to win laurels.
Speaking later in an interview, the winner, Miss Adewunmi expressed delight and gratitude to God for emerging first amongst equals.
