Ogun Principal’s Cup Competition Receives N1.9m Boost


gtbank logoPlans to stage a successful Principal’s Cup competition in Ogun state today received another boost as the partner, Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) presented a N1.9m to the State Government.

The sum according to the representative of the bank, Mr. Harry Balogun was meant to cater for all the expenses concerning security, medicals, referee allowances and other logistics from the preliminary up to the quarterfinal stage of the competition.

Receiving the cheque, Commissioners of Youth and Sports, Hon. Gbenga Otenuga and his Education, Science and Technology counterpart, Barrister Segun Odubela who were represented, promised that the money would be spent judiciously to ensure that the competitions were successfully staged in all centres of the four divisions of the State.

Meanwhile, preliminaries of the competition which had earlier been suspended would resume tomorrow following the completion of the 2nd term unified examination held in all secondary schools across the State.

Coordinator, School Sports in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Julius Bamgboye indicated that the preliminaries would resume in Yewa, Ijebu and Remo divisions, while the Egba division which was yet to start before the suspension would start afresh.
