As the 2012/2013 second term unified examination in all public secondary schools in Ogun State commences on Monday 11th March, all teachers have been urged to ensure the completion of their subject syllabus.
Aside this, they need to embark on revision exercise to prepare the students adequately for the upcoming examination so that they would come out in flying colours.
The State Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Barrister Segun Odubela gave this admonition while monitoring the level of preparation of schools for the examination at Obafemi Owode, Sagamu and Ikenne Local Government Areas of the State.
Barrister Odubela said “By now, all School teachers should have covered their subject syllabus and start doing revision for their students in order to refresh their memory ahead of the examination”.
He explained that his Ministry was fully prepared for a hitch-free exercise as all question papers and answer sheets had been printed and distributed to all Zonal Offices across the State, and urged all Heads of schools to ensure early collection of such materials from their respective Zonal Offices in order to start at the stipulated time.
“We are fully prepared for the examination because all the materials needed have been made available at all Zonal Offices across the State. Infact, we have made provision of extra copies to take care of anticipated shortages while packing the papers” Odubela revealed.
He disclosed that plans had been concluded to make Officials of the Ministry move round the schools to monitor the examination when it is being conducted to ensure that it is hitch free and address likely cases of malpractices.
The Commissioner charged the students to study hard and comport themselves during the examinations in order to justify the huge investment government was making in the education sector.
